• Elmander suffered foot injury playing for Galatasaray
• Sweden to play Ukraine, England and France in Group D
The Sweden manager, Erik Hamren, included Johan Elmander in his Euro 2012 squad after receiving positive news about the experienced striker's fitness. Elmander suffered a foot injury playing for Galatasary at the end of the Turkish club season but tests suggest the former Bolton player will be fit in time for the team's first game against Ukraine on 11 June.
However, John Guidetti was omitted as his rehabilitation following an infection will take longer. The 20-year-old Guidetti has been in fine goalscoring form while on loan from Manchester City to Feyenoord this season, scoring 20 goals in 23 games.
After opening their campaign against the hosts, Sweden then take on England before finishing with a clash against France. Hamren said of Group D: "It's going to be an exciting challenge, it is a tough, uncertain group. We could have three good matches and still not progress through. The first aim is to advance to the quarter-finals."
