• 35-year-old midfielder makes decision for family reasons
• Becomes fourth Milan player this week to confirm exit
Mark van Bommel has announced that he will leave Milan and return to PSV Eindhoven at the end of the season.
The 35-year-old midfielder joined Milan in January 2011 and signed a one-year extension to his deal last summer. With tears in his eyes on Saturday, the Holland captain said he is leaving "because I have to respect the wishes of my family ... I have to return to Holland."
Van Bommel, who spent seven seasons at PSV, said he will return to the Dutch club "for a year, maybe two, then I will become a coach." Referring to Milan as "like a family" Van Bommel also added he would like to coach the Serie A side in the future.
He becomes the fourth Milan player to confirm he is leaving the club this week after Alessandro Nesta, Gennaro Gattuso and Filippo Inzaghi. Read More
