• France 3-2 Iceland

Adil Rami struck a late winner to complete a France fightback and a 3-2 friendly victory over Iceland on Sunday, a little under two weeks before they start their Euro 2012 campaign against England in Donetsk.

Centre-back Rami's goal on 87 minutes completed the French comeback in Valenciennes after Franck Ribéry and Mathieu Debuchy had cancelled out Birkir Bjarnason and Kolbeinn Sigthorsson's first-half goals which had given Iceland a 2-0 lead.

France produced a terrible defensive display with Manchester United's Patrice Evra at fault for both goals two days before the coach, Laurent Blanc, has to trim his Euro 2012 squad from 25 to 23 players.

France host Serbia in Reims on Thursday before taking on Estonia in Le Mans on 5 June ahead of their opening Group D game with England on 11 June.

"We cannot pretend the first half did not happen," Blanc told French television after his side extended their unbeaten run to 19 games in the most unconvincing fashion.

"It is hard to find the balance between the attack and the defence," said the former world champion, who fielded Yohan Cabaye as the only holding midfielder in an experimental and attacking lineup, featuring several fringe players.

Iceland went ahead in the 29th minute when Bjarnason fired an angled shot past Steve Mandanda. Sigthorsson then made it 2-0 six minutes later when he latched on to a fine cross from the right at the end of a sharp counterattack that left Evra trailing in Rurik Gislason's slipstream.

Seven minutes into the second half, the France right-back Debuchy scored from close range after being set up by Karim Benzema.

Yoann Gourcuff, one of a handful players not guaranteed a spot in the final squad, produced an unconvincing performance and was replaced with 15 minutes remaining by Ribéry who had an almost immediate impact.

Ribéry lobbed an equaliser over the Iceland goalkeeper Hannes Halldorsson in the 85th minute after a fine one-two with another substitute, Olivier Giroud, who was also to have a hand in the winner.

Giroud headed the ball into the path of Rami who fired past Halldorsson to give France a flattering victory. Read More
