From Neymar to Gastón Ramírez, who are the stars to look out for in the men's football tournament this summer?

NEYMAR Brazil, 20

A striker whose mohawk is as eye-catching as his prodigious talent. Quick, strong and immensely skilful, he has been continually linked with transfers to Barcelona and Real Madrid, but has remained at Santos for the time being. He was named the South American Footballer of the Year last year and has already scored nine goals for Brazil.

GANSO Brazil, 22

A team-mate of Neymar's at Santos, the creative midfielder looks set to join a European club after rejecting the offer of a new contract. A clever player, he is likely to provide plenty of assists for his forwards, although he is yet to make a sizeable impact for the national team and was a major disappointment at last year's Copa América.

IKER MUNIAIN Spain, 19

Part of the Athletic Bilbao side that captured the hearts and minds of neutrals across Europe as they swashed and buckled their way to the final of the Europa League, Muniain is set for the top. He can play as a winger or through the middle, and there will not be too many defenders who will fancy trying to stop him when he is in full flow.

CRISTIAN TELLO Spain, 20

Pep Guardiola gradually introduced Tello into the Barcelona side at the start of this year and he made an instant impression with some blistering performances. While the 20-year-old is still raw and has plenty to learn – painfully apparent during a defeat to Real Madrid last season – he makes up for that with his coruscating speed. Once he's gone, you don't catch him.

GASTON RAMIREZ Uruguay, 21

Much of the attention will be placed on Edinson Cavani and Luis Suárez, who are undoubtedly the two biggest names in the Uruguay squad, but big things are also expected from Gastón Ramírez this summer. The 21-year-old winger plays for Bologna in Serie A and his performances for the Italian side in the last two seasons have led to him attracting interest from Liverpool. Ramírez hit eight goals in 32 games for Bologna last season, although he is yet to register for Uruguay in his nine appearances so far.

KI SUNG-YUENG South Korea, 23

He is already a key player for his country, having earned 45 caps for the senior side, so a strong showing in London this summer could earn the Celtic midfielder a lucrative move to the Premier League. He has form on the big occasion too, having scored a brilliant opener for Celtic in last year's Scottish Cup final.

JAVIER AQUINO Mexico, 22

One of the many unknown quantities at this tournament, the winger has the potential to run riot in one of the weaker groups this summer. Read More
