This week's round-up also features West Indies winning the World Cup, Norway v England reminiscing and our new favourite sport

1) Falcao wins our scissors kick from a corner goal of the week competition, and why not extend the Falcao love-in with all 36 of his goals from this season.

2) Dip your toe in some Monaco GP-themed nostalgia with this documentary on the 1969 race won by Graham Hill; the original BBC broadcast of the rain-soaked 1984 version; and here is Ayrton Senna's battle with Alain Prost in 1989 as well as the Brazilian's battle with Nigel Mansell in 1992.

3) Roy Hodgson's career as England manager takes flight this weekend with a tricky trip to Norway. England took a hell of a beating there in 1982 en route to 1982 World Cup in Spain (from a side containing only five professionals and Oslo's chief telephone engineer) and again in June 1993 under Graham Taylor – which gives us another reason to link to this documentary. But on a more positive note, they did beat the Norwegians in 6-1 in a warm-up match for the 1966 World Cup and here is an absolute belter from Terry McDermott in a 4-0 trashing back in 1980.

4) Our new favourite horse.

5) Random football clips dept: ah, the old 'team-mates pretend to fight over free-kick' routine; and Frank Lampard makes his Football League debut on loan at Swansea as a 17-year-old.

6) It's the BMX world championship in Birmingham this week, so why not go back 30 years to the 1982 renewal in Vegas.

Our favourites from last week's blog

1) Sneaky New Zealand netballers adopt a rugby union line-out tactic.

2) 14 minutes and 50 seconds of Euro 2012 qualifying goals? Yes, please.

3) Our new favourite "sport".

4) When West Indies were much better.

5) Extreme walking on a Russian bridge. Don't. Look. Down.

6) How to be Kronwalled in 10 easy steps.
