Thierry Henry scored his ninth goal in Major League Soccer – he is now the MLS's top scorer – seven minutes into New York Red Bulls' 1-0 victory against New England Revolution on Saturday, before succumbing to a hamstring injury that is expected to keep him out for a month.
Jonny Steele scored in the third minute of added time to give Salt Lake a 3-2 home win against Toronto. Kyle Beckerman also scored for Salt Lake, who took a 2-1 lead in the 57th minute thanks to Richard Eckersley's own goal. Eric Avila and Doneil Henry scored for Toronto.
At Carson, California, Pat Noonan scored late in stoppage time to give LA a 1-1 draw with FC Dallas. Noonan, who came on as a substitute, scored his first goal for the Galaxy. It came following a failed clearance, with seconds remaining in the game. Brek Shea opened the scoring for Dallas, converting a penalty in the 61st minute. Robbie Keane had earlier missed a penalty for Galaxy.
David Estrada and Eddie Johnson scored in Seattle's 2-1 victory against Chicago. Estrada opened the scoring in the 39th minute and Johnson made it 2-0 after the hour. Chicago's Marco Pappa scored a late consolation, curling in a corner off the left post
In Washington, Maicon Santos scored twice as DC United won consecutive MLS games for the first time since June 2009, beating Houston 3-2. Dwayne De Rosario also scored for United. Will Bruin was on target twice for the Dynamo.
Bernardo Corradi and Sinisa Ubiparipovic scored in the second half to help Montreal beat Portland 2-0 and remain undefeated in three games at home. Corradi opened the scoring in the 76th minute from the penalty spot, after Collen Warner's shot struck a Portland player's arm. Ubiparipovic scored in the 84th minute from close range.
Steven Lenhart headed in his second goal in the final seconds of stoppage time to give San Jose a 2-1 win at Philadelphia. The second-half substitute also scored in the 76th minute. Gabriel Gómez scored in the 83rd minute for Philadelphia.
Lee Young-pyo scored from a free-kick in the 74th minute as Vancouver beat Columbus 2-1. Kamani Hill scored twice, along with Tony Cascio and Jeff Larentowicz, in Colorado's 4-0 thumping of Chivas. Read More
