• Forward injured hamstring in draw against Chelsea
• Injury will keep him out for only three weeks

Theo Walcott will be fit to play for England at Euro 2012 after scans confirmed that the damage to his left hamstring will keep him out for only three weeks.

The winger will not feature in Arsenal's final three matches of the Premier League season, as they chase Champions League qualification, but he will have time to recover his fitness before the summer tournament in Poland and Ukraine.

Walcott injured the hamstring in the 0-0 draw against Chelsea on Saturday, feeling the muscle tighten in the 57th minute but playing on after treatment. Shortly afterwards, he felt the hamstring tear and he was forced off. Arsène Wenger, the Arsenal manager, described it as a "serious" problem.

"He had a small injury and then made it worse," Wenger said. "We assessed the hamstring but he wanted to stay on the pitch. I think he should have come off straight away because the second time, it was a real hamstring."

Walcott is determined to make an impression at the European Championship after being cut at the very last from England's 2010 World Cup squad by the then manager, Fabio Capello. He had been a shock inclusion in Sven-Goran Eriksson's 2006 World Cup squad as a 17-year-old, without Premier League experience, only not to feature. Read More
